EHI supported various engineering firms with GIS mapping and CCTV data review services for small diameter sewer rehabilitation across multiple combined contracts. Our work gave field crews, inspectors, and project stakeholders a single, reliable, up-to-date picture of the system.

EHI developed and maintained GIS mapping to support field operations and improve coordination during inspection and rehabilitation activities. We established baseline asset locations and standardized naming conventions so that everyone — from field crews to project managers — was speaking the same language about the same assets. We then integrated GIS datasets with CCTV inspection data, turning raw inspection footage into actionable intelligence: identifying system conditions, tracking issues, and supporting maintenance and repair planning.

Sewer systems don’t stand still during rehabilitation, and neither did our data. As field verification and surveying progressed, EHI continuously updated mapping to reflect accurate asset locations and system conditions, incorporating changes from rehabilitation activities such as tap removals, root cutting, and other repairs — keeping the GIS current and reliable throughout project execution.

At project closeout, EHI delivered a comprehensive dataset of updated GIS mapping and survey work, providing Pittsburgh Water with dependable records to support future operations and asset management.

Infrastructure work is only as good as the data behind it. EHI made sure Pittsburgh Water’s data was as solid as the pipes it describes — accurate in the field, current through construction, and built to serve the system for years to come.
