Housing Authority of the City of Pittsburgh Organizational Style and Rebranding
Project Overview
Known for providing affordable housing to Pittsburgh residents in need, HACP is looking to develop an organizational style that helps to clearly establish their brand identity, accentuate the nature of their business and help to convey the impact that HACP’s work has on the community. They are seeking to adopt a new logo, new style guide, and a brand that will be clearly identifiable by current residents, potential clients, and stakeholders. This brand update in hand-in-hand with the relocation of the main offices, and it on opportunity for the authority to unveil a refreshed look and mission statement.

Graphic Design
E. Holdings partnered with Wall to Wall, a Brand and Digital Design Agency, to complete the project. The team’s combined expertise in strategic creative design was vital in creating HACP’s new and refreshed brand identity and guidelines. The organizational style guide will be implemented company-wide and is to include; a corporate identity suite, newsletter template, logo suite, business card design, updated fonts and colors, and a refreshed tagline. The brand identity will pay homage to the HACP’s past while opening the door for a bright, new future. Lastly, the completed style guide will include a glossary of terms, abbreviations, acronyms, and lists of community owned and/or operated by the Authority.
Research & Outreach
HACP is amongst many housing authorities within the United States and is comparable in services to many entities within the city. In an effort to set themselves apart from these entities, and stay on top on market trend, the team chose to do a peer and competitor review to gather useful information on these agencies. E Holdings was responsible for researching organizations noted by HACP, and additional identified similar agencies, and compiling a report regarding these organization’s logos, main message, mission, or tagline, a main standout item that sets the entity apart, and keywords that describe them/their services.
Additionally, the team was tasked with conducting multiple stakeholder interviews. The information gathered in these interviews with current renters, landlords, and HACP employees is vital in understanding the direct impact the authority has on the residents of the city at personal level.
