Martin Luther King, Jr. Reading & Cultural Center Inc., 2007

Project Description

Strategic Planning and Board Development – The Martin Luther King, Jr. Cultural Center promotes, preserves, and extends African-American culture and history. The cultural Center is a non-profit community-directed facility dedicated to providing access to resources and programming for people of all ages. We examined the current state of the Center’s programs and governance, relationship in and with the community, and their role in the future development of Herron Avenue; clarified the board’s vision for the future; discussed the roles and responsibilities of a non-profit; and determined next steps. At the conclusion, we provided a guide for implementation. This project demonstrates our strategic planning expertise.
